My Uncle.

My Uncle John was always the nice kind hearted uncle who lived very far away. He and auntie Norma would come and visit now and then probably once a year. but looking back maybe less.

My Sister Had been to Visit Canada. flew out on a plane and did all sorts of things. but then she was 6 years older, 6 years is a big difference when you're still in school.

I didnt go to Canada Till I was maybe 13 or 14. I remember meeting all sorts of people and relatives with cool trucks and knowledge of the world. But  I was an adult trapped in a kids body. as the older ones went out, (Older Ones being proper adults who have jobs and such). I would just ride around Niagara on the lake on a racing bike Uncle John had fixed for me to try and keep me entertained.

I remember sitting in the lounge room, watching baseball. we we watched it from start to finish, I sat with my trading cards pretending I knew what the statistics meant for each player. but It was the first sport anybody sat and explained to me, so it still remains my favorite.

We even took a trip to Toronto to go up a really big tower in some lifts with glass walls  which to this day still give me shivers thinking about it. However the best part was on our walk out of the city to get to the car we passed by the Baseball Stadium. which stands about the size of Toronto itself (Or in my mind it did)

A man outside was selling tickets to the game. And as I had shown great interest so far in the sport my Uncle John went and got us tickets. They played chicago (and lost) but it was just the two of us and it lasted a lifetime. This was the only baseball game I have been to in my life.

To this day still claim to be a Blue Jays fan.

even though I only got to go to one game I couldn't think of another person in the world who I would have take me to my first baseball game. and i don't think if i ever do get to go to another game it will ever be the same.

I have no bad memories of my Uncle John who lived so far away. I challenge anybody to think of one. He always smiled and had some way of making time with him fun. I believe that now somewhere above us a gate has just opened. A man has just stepped through and a lot of unhappy faces have realised that they get to see Uncle John again.  so if you hear the clouds giggling. well you know he has started with the jokes already

Jon.
