Ballet memories

As so many others, I will miss Pegi very much. She has a special place in the pantheon of formative people in my life... In particulary, I loved, loved, loved ballet class with her (even though I wasn't a talented student!).

My overwhelming memory of her - I can't think of her without it floating up - is of her, svelt and beautiful, standing at the front of our dance class (at Shaw), piano plunking in the background, Diet Coke in one hand, cigarette near (if not in other hand!)... with her gorgeous gravelly voice calling out foot positions. It was a very 70s experience....

As I 'grew up' I enjoyed bumping into her around town; the experiences always ended with lots of giggles on both sides. And when I eventually married - without much time to prepare! - she hosted a lovely, relatively impromptu shower for me. Across my life, she has given me many, many lovely memories - such a gift.

I am very sorry to have to miss her service. I will be thinking of her and the whole family on Thursday.

I miss her - but will continue to cherish her memory -
