I met Karen 6 years ago. She came to my esthetic classes at niagara college cont. ed. She was incredibly smart and funny!!!we had so much fun in our classes. A group of girls followed all the evening classes and we all became friends... One day Karen called and told me she had cancer.She was so positive about beating it. I asked what I could do to help...off we went to Hamilton for treatments. And so it began, her battle. She remained positive through everything. There were days when she was tired and pissed and frustrated...especially at the way cancer patients are treated by the health system here. I asked her one day if it wasn't for Zander, would she have fought so hard? she said no... her love for her son was her never ending strength, perserverence and determination...to battle cancer. She was funny, strong willed, beautiful and loved to live life to the fullest...she was inspirational and caring of others...always willing to help or support someone else even as she was suffering...there are not enough words to describe this amazing woman and friend...It was an honor to have her as my friend...love you Karen, you will be missed and remembered ...I hope you are laughing with Rodney right now...My condolences to Karen's entire family, especially, Zander xo Leelee
