Gail Nagley

Joan always reminded me of the white rabbit in Alice and Wonderland - she had to "get on my skates" and off she would go, often on her tricycle. She and my mother spent a lot of time together and enjoyed each other's company as buddies in the Davy Street Apartments. With Sissie's poor hearing and Joan's soft voice, I often wondered how they got on so well. I have been visiting Joan at Upper Canada for some years now and while she sometimes forgot who I was, she never forgot my Mother. There are, I am sure, many many people who will never forget Joan. I won't.
