Condolence From: Terry-she Mactaggart
Condolence: Bob was a neighbour and friend. While I was on the Museum board he and I did the Newsletter together and one of his "Bobisms" was "Terry, we're all born with an allotment of commas and you've long since used yours up!" In other words, DON'T USE THEM! Initially, almost every day (and then every week) until just before he moved from NOTL he sent me an email - sometimes a joke or a riddle or a bit of wisdom. I miss him a lot.... I'm glad he and Audrey will be together again in spirit.
As you can see, I like commas!
Hugs to all their family, Terry-she (I'm married to Terry-he!)

Condolence: Most sincere condolences to Bob's family. He was a one-in-a-million gentleman and will be missed.

It was our pleasure to recognize Bob with the President's Award at the NOTL Chamber of Commerce Spirit of Niagara Awards in Feb 2012, in recognition of the tremendous results he achieved in organizing and overseeing the monthly Breakfast Club at Riverbend Inn. His dedication to providing interesting speakers and inspiring everyone to embrace life-long learning was truly inspirational.

Condolence From: Amy Klassen, Niagara Historical Society
Condolence: Bob was a dedicated volunteer for the historical society for many years and will be greatly missed. Our condolences to his family and friends.

I remember several years ago asking Bob if he was available to do some volunteering for me. Most of our senior volunteers were not very tech savvy back then, but Bob busted out his palm pilot (technology I didn't even have at the time as a young student) to see if he had anything scheduled! He was never afraid to learn new things!

Condolence: I did not know "Uncle Bob" for very long, or very well, but I admired him so much. He was such a grand old-style gentleman and made me feel so welcome in the Waugh family. Family was so important to him, and I loved the family reunions he organized. His sons Peter and Steve are gentleman like he was, and my sincerest condolences go to them and to "Aunt Chris", his sister Bo, and the entire Waugh family. He will be missed.

Condolence: I was very saddened to hear of the passing of my friend, Bob. I greatly enjoyed the opportunity of knowing both he and his late wife, as they were such lovely people. My thoughts and condolences go out to Peter, Stephen, and family.

Thinking of you,

Condolence From: Ted & Ann Huffman
Condolence: Although our friendship with Bob was a short eight years, we grew to know him as a brave officer of the Royal Canadian Navy in World War II, an interesting, handsome, charming and affable dining partner at the luncheon meetings of the Butler Branch, UELAC, and as a kind and generous gentleman who shared a common interest in our family's naval history. We enjoyed his company on a number of occasions at his new residence in St. Catharines where he continued to take a leadership role as he had done throughout his life. We know he will be missed by many and wish to express our sincere condolences to his sons and extended family. It was an honour to be among his friends.

Condolence: On behalf of the Hamilton Area Group, Toronto Branch of the Naval Officers Association of Canada, may I express our sympathy and condolences to Bob's family and close friends.
He was for many years a regular attender at our monthly gatherings, where his wit, humour, and graciousness were deeply appreciated.

Condolence From: Rod and Bev Craig
Condolence: Our deepest sympathy to Bob's family, friends and caregivers. Bob was a true gentleman and we enjoyed visiting with him at the Col. John Butler Branch UELAC luncheon meetings. Bob always owned the latest Palm and later Blackberry devices and he challengeed us to keep up to date with our technological gadgets. We will truly miss him.
Loyal regards
Rod and Bev

Condolence From: Pat and Eugene Oatley
Condolence: Bob was a very interesting and informative person to know. His wife Audrey was U.E. and Bob , with much pride, helped her to achieve her certificate. He was a well liked executive with General Motors and remembered every person by name who worked there when I did. He would send beautiful
and exciting nature scenes to Eugene by email. Not to mention that he had quite a good sense of humour. Our sympathies go to his family and those who cared for him. He will be missed.
Pat and Eugene.
