Life Story for Michael Cedric Birkett Whitaker

Michael Cedric Birkett Whitaker
WHITAKER, Michael Cedric Birkett - August 20,1924 - June 22,2014
At Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday June 22, 2014. Surrounded by his family and the Rev. Janet Cashin, our wonderful Dad left us before hearing the final results of the World Cup. Born in Kendal, England, his love of the Lake District was only surpassed by his love of his family and his beloved golden retriever Katie. Survived by his wife of 65 years Babette. Loving father to Tony, Susan (husband John), Chris (wife Ellanna) and proud grandfather of Caleigh, Drew and Sarah. Michael was a resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake for the past 17 years, long standing member and past President of Rotary and an avid gardener. In honour of his wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to a celebration of his wonderful life, well lived, on Saturday August 9th on the grounds of St. Saviours Anglican Church, Queenston, ON. Details to be announced. The family wishes to thank the staff of the ICU Cardiac Care Centre for their outstanding care. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory. Arrangements in care of MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent Street.
