Life Story for Johanna Klose (Kupczyk)

Johanna Klose (Kupczyk)
KLOSE, Johanna – It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Johanna Klose in her 93rd year at Upper Canada Lodge on October 10, 2014. Beloved wife of the late Leo (1992). Dear mother of Karin (Bill) Morrison, Ingrid Rosenbaum (Peter Stephenson) and Gerald (Liz) Klose. Beloved Omi of Billy and Alex Morrison. Survived by her brother Ewaldt, sister Helene and several nieces and nephews in Germany. Predeceased by one brother and three sisters.
Johanna and her late husband Leo immigrated from Germany to Canada after World War II and began a new life in Manitoba. In 1965 they made their way to Niagara-on-the-Lake where they purchased a farm and established a rewarding life in the grape and wine industry.
Johanna will be remembered by all as a hard working person who devoted her life to the family farm and raising her family. Johanna was never one to sit still. When she was not working on the farm, tending to her garden and chickens, she was sewing, knitting, cooking and baking. She was proud of her family and the accomplishments each family member attained as they moved through life. Always one to welcome friends and family, she was welcomed at Upper Canada Lodge when she became a resident in 2004.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Upper Canada Lodge for their compassion and kindness to Johanna during the time she was in their care.
A private family service is planned for Johanna at the Morgan Funeral Home in Niagara-on-the-Lake. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Upper Canada Lodge, 272 Wellington Street, Niagara on the Lake L0S 1J0 P.O. box 1390 or to a charity of choice.
