Life Story for Joanne "Jenny" Pospiech (Sagansky)

Joanne "Jenny" Pospiech (Sagansky)
POSPIECH, Joanne (nee Sagansky) – Peacefully at Upper Canada Lodge, surrounded by her family on Tuesday October 7, 2014, in her 99th year. “Jenny” was born in Krydor, Sask. to Paul and Anastasia on October 18, 1915. She married in 1938 and moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake in 1946. Mom and Dad bought a small farm and Dad took on a job at Anthes Imperial. Mom now became part time farmer and full time mother and wife. They started with fruit trees and grains for chickens, geese and milking cows. Eventually all were converted to grapes. Now Mom had to learn to prune, tie and thin grapes. She was a hard worker, but still had time for family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Nicholas (2000). Jenny leaves behind 3 wonderful children (her words), Robert (late Jan), Bruce (Maureen), Ruth (Glenn) Hunter. Best Baba to 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by sisters Irene Sadlowsky, Stella Hnatyshyn, Kay Fushtor, Helen Hrabia, Julia Lewis and brother Harry. The family would like to thank the staff at Upper Canada Lodge for all their kindness to our Mom and Baba. In Mom’s own words, “All I want written is, I had a good life, please no tears”.
Family will receive friends at the MORGAN FUNERAL HOME, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Monday October 13th from 2-4 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12 – 1pm. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 1pm. Interment will follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the Upper Canada Lodge or to a charity of choice.
