Helle and I met at the University of Toronto in 1968. We were both Estonian and wanting to become dentists. And we were both strong women. I liked Helle immediately: she was smart, athletic, beautiful, opinionated and fun-loving. She insisted on teaching me how to ski, I think I insisted on teaching her how to enjoy California wines. We created adventures together that I cherish in my memory. I will deeply miss our conversations about love, life and the mystery of being.
