Life Story for Helen Louise Masson (Spalding)

MASSON, Helen (nee Spalding) - With sorrow, her family mourns the death of Helen on January 8, 2015 in her 100th year. She is predeceased by her husband Georges and survived by her sons Richard (Sherry) and Paul (Elizabeth) as well as four grandchildren Roger, Alisa, Nicole and Robert and great grandchildren Lily, Sadie and Maxwell.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, a descendant of early settlers of that state, Helen and Georges lived in Montreal and a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, before retiring to Niagara-on-the-Lake in 1973. She was active in many organizations throughout most of her life, locally in the Niagara Historical Society and the Niagara Horticultural Society and was particularly interested in reading, and her book group.
Special thanks to the staff of Chateau Gardens for their care over the past year.
At Helen’s request, cremation and private family services will take place at a later date. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Historical Society.
