Condolences

Condolence From: Jennifer & Lou Holmes
Condolence: I've been working with Barrie for almost 10 years in the marine industry and considered Barrie one of my best mentors. He was always willing to give advice and his patience while I was learning was never-ending. He is a true gentlemen and was well liked by everyone who had the pleasure of working alongside him.

Condolence: We were very sorry to hear of Barrie's passing. He was a great delight to work with at Lakeshore Players. He made a great contribution to the group through his wonderful ideas, boundless energy and, most importantly, fabulous sense of humour and fun! We missed him greatly after he left for Ontario.

Condolence: Deb and I were sorry to hear of Barrie's passing and our condolences to Mary and the family.
I started my shipping career in 1976 with Barrie at Main Shipping and that led to us forming Beam Shipping together a little later. With the other Bob (Greer) onboard we worked hard with long hours but the parties and curry lunches made up for it!
God Bless.

Condolence: So sorry to hear that Barry has died...He was a great support to me when Lakeshore Players produced Anne of a Thousand Days...He was a delight to work with and felt so sorry when he settled away from Montreal. We missed him. In our living room we have a lovely antique print of an engraving which I cherish...given to me by Barry after the production. Fondly remembered...condolences to those he has left behind. Bob and Phyllis Burns

Condolence From: Capt.Miquel Muntaner Spagnolo
Condolence: I first met Barrie in Montreal in 1982, later on we worked together at Fednav Ltd in Montreal from 1997 till his retirement and in the recent years at BBC Chartering as Port Captains. In all those years there was a common denominator: Barrie's smile, gentleness and his readiness to help.
He was so special that, in the recent years, when I was calling him to find out about his health he was more the one cheering me, rather than me.
I never heard him talking bad or in a negative way about any one ever! Great man! He will be remembered!
My prayers to his wife, sons and family.
Miquel Muntaner

Condolence: What a shock to hear of Barrie’s passing. Our hearts go out to Mary and the family. Barrie was a real man of the theatre. For over 10 years he was the go-to guy at Lakeshore Players, building sets, filling in onstage, serving on the board. With Barrie on the crew, nothing was impossible, and everything was fun. We had some great times – and put on some excellent shows. And there was always that wry smile and wonderful sense of humor. Actor, carpenter, gentleman, he was our heart and soul. Thank you Barrie.

Condolence From: Capt Sergio Coloma Brevis
Condolence: This is a sad day for all of us in Brazil. I had the pleasure to work with Barrie for many years and learnt a great deal with him about shipping and life in general and had the honour to socialize with him and Mary at their home in Montreal.
Will miss him a lot - wish Mary love and peace.

Condolence: Barrie will be sorely missed in our lives. He was a special person, a gentleman at all times and an example to us all.

it is said that a person can be judged by the friends he has made. Barrie had made friends everywhere he went, to the point that the BBC Port Captain in any port in Canada and the Great Lakes tended to be called Barrie initially.
