Life Story for Ana Laura "Annette" MacKenzie (Stevenson)

MACKENZIE, Annette
Annette left the world gently on Thursday, May 8, 2014 after a brief illness, a few weeks after her 88th birthday. “Nettie” was the beloved mother of John (Lise), Chip (Kate), and Carolyn (Rod); “Granny Net” to Freya, Liam, Mac, and Emma; and great grandmother to Lily and Finn. “Queenie” leaves her brother Bob Stevenson and sisters Helen Price and Louise Stevenson. “Aunt Net” leaves many nieces and nephews as well as her extended families the Griffins and Sutherlands. She is predeceased by her former husband, Jack Mackenzie.
Born in Buenos Aires, Annette immigrated to Montreal as a child, which was her principal home until 1997 when she moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake. She lived in England and Europe briefly after WWII before returning to Canada where she raised her family while volunteering for several worthy causes in Montreal. A celebratory tea will be held on Saturday May 17 from 3:00 and 5:00 pm in the Parish Hall of St. Mark’s Anglican Church, 47 Byron Street in Niagara-on-the-Lake. A celebration of Annette’s life will be held for her Quebec family and friends in early August. In lieu of flowers Annette’s family welcome you to make a donation to either the Niagara-on-the-Lake Hospital Foundation, 176 Wellington Street, PO Box 1270, Niagara-on-the-Lake, ON L0S 1J0 or the Parkinson Society of Greater Montreal, 550 Sherbrooke Street West - West Tower - Office 1080 Montreal, QC, H3A 1B9.
