My heartfelt condolences to Karen's family and especially Xander. I paddled with Karen for 2 years, and she was the strongest and most positive person I had ever met. One of the best memories was racing in Stratford in 2010, when we put Xander in the drummer's seat and we won a gold medal. Xander also got a medal and I remember how proud both of them were that day. Karen never gave up. She fought a good fight, accomplished a lot in her last few years, and inspired so many in her journey. She will always be remembered by her friends and former crewmates on the dragon boat crew, we were fortunate to have known her. God Bless.
