Obituary for Sharon Nayler

Nayler, Sharon
January 5, 2024

It is with heavy hearts we announce that after a long illness, Sharon Ann Nayler (Lewis) passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024 in Niagara Falls. Sharon will be deeply missed by her daughter, Jennifer (Mack), and brothers Doug, Darrell (Debbie), and Kevin (Sue).

Reminiscing on her childhood growing up in Richmond Hill, Sharon always found time to share stories about her time figure skating, as well as countless stories of her (always comical) escapades with her brothers. When she wasn’t laughing about them, it was usually to share a story about her mom and dad. Sharon always found a reason to crack a joke, and her smile could always light up a room. In her later years she would create loving memories with her daughter and would eventually move to Niagara in order to be closer to her. With all of the trials and tribulations life brought to her, Sharon was always resilient and found great comfort in her team of family and friends, in particular with her best friend, Kelly. Whether it was a quiet night at home, a sweet treat, or a blooming flower, she always found a way to enjoy the small things in life, and we will always cherish her memory (and we’ll always think of her when we reach for an extra bite of chocolate).

As per Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Her celebration of life will be held on February 24, 2024 at Morgan Funeral Home in Niagara-on-the-Lake (415 Regent St.) from 2-5PM. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in her name to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya, where she had the opportunity to meet the baby elephants first-hand (and later adopted one herself). https://www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/donate
