Life Story for Mary Louise Lavell (Librock)

Lavell, Mary Louise (nee Librock)
Peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at the age of 94, life long resident of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Pre-deceased by her husband, Jim (1996), and her brother-in-law Butch Usher. Survived by her three children, Susan (Rick) Sherk of Niagara-on-the-Lake; Jim (Bonnie) of Kitchener; and Vicky Vernile of Burlington. Also survived by her sister Gloria Usher of Kincardine. Mary loved and was very proud of her eight grand-children, Dan, Stefanie, and John Sherk; Andy, John, and Mike Lavell; and Allison and Calvie Vernile. She was GG, the Smarties Grandma, to twelve great grandchildren. She always had a soft spot for dogs, and over the years Weedus, Sham, and Bo were all spoiled by her affections.
Mary and Jim enjoyed an active life, skating, square dancing, and camping in the legendary Boler. In their retirement years they enjoyed several trips together. Their happiest occasions were family gatherings, whether in Algonquin Park or at the homes of their children. Since Jim's death, Mary's life was somewhat less active, but she always maintained a keen interest and pride in the activities, accomplishments, and antics, of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at the Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent St., Niagara-on-the-Lake on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. A celebration of Mary’s Life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 12:00 noon.
