Obituary for Janet Catherine Robinson

JANET CATHERINE ROBINSON

Jan left us on Monday, 7th June, peacefully and after a long and happy life. She came into the world on 30th September 1932 in Toronto, the “baby” of Kay and Archie Campbell’s young family. Jan had so many adventures in her nearly-89 years, the greatest of which was raising her four children – Lynn, Rob, Lee, and Ted – and being “Nana” to her seven magnificent grandchildren – Lisa, Valerie, Andrea, Campbell, Elliot, Hazel, and Willow. She loved all of them deeply, and was loved equally in return.

Along the way Jan played at many things, built a wonderful career, and travelled to many places. Hers was a happy life, filled with joy and love. And while she faced hardships, her strength, determination, and humour helped her meet and overcome each one. She was small of stature, but mighty of character!

Jan wasn’t big on funerals, but she adored a good party. So, as she wished, we will forgo the former and plan for the latter. She made so many friends on her long and happy journey – hopefully all of them will be able to come together with her family for a celebration in the Fall. Stay tuned!

If you would like to do something meaningful to mark the life of our kind, loving caring Mum and Nana, please consider donating to Toronto’s Covenant House – Jan would like that.
