Condolences

Condolence From: Lisa Lancaster Kershaw
Condolence: Dear Donna's family,
My brother Mark and I grew up hearing stories of Donna. My mom, Cynthia Barnett Lancaster, and Donna were next door neighbours in Saskatoon. Our Dad, Cully Lancaster, met Donna at Queen's university. And then Donna introduced them to each other - and the rest is history!

I have fond memories of Donna. I moved to Toronto in the late 1980s and Donna took me for 'lunch' as a new, young 'working woman'. I must have showed up looking disheveled because she admonished me and explained in precise terms that I needed to do the following: only carry 1 purse! wear my coat (not have it dragging in my hands; and for heaven's sake, don't be lugging extra bags and parcels. To look 'put together' I needed to spruce up. And boy have I heeded that great advice. Loved, loved, loved our wonderful lunches. She and my mom remained in touch for 50+ years.
Our love to you all.

Condolence From: Lorna Marsden
Condolence: Donna was such a wonderful, elegant and intelligent person. while I had known her slightly for some time we became friends in a women's dinner club we both belonged to in Toronto. When she moved to Niagra-on-the-Lake we eventually lost touch, but I will always remember her with admiration, affection and send condolences to her family.

Condolence From: Alison Gyles
Condolence: My deepest condolences to Rod, Steve and Gregg. Also to Cherry. These last 3 years were very hard on Donna, and thus on all of you. And dear Donna, I will miss you dearly. My godmother, and my Mom's best friend, you were always in my life. Your special influence, guidance and friendship cannot be replaced. My heart is happy for the life you led, that you slipped away quickly without suffering, and that you are now reunited with Hugh. But I also ache for the sound of your voice and laugh. Rest peacefully with the love of your life. And I look forward to that heavenly tap on the shoulder whenever you want to send it my way. Love Alison.

Condolence From: Marjorie Hewitt
Condolence: Donna was a very special person in my life. My Grandpa and her Dad were friends. My Dad and Jim grew up together, cousins and as only children more like brothers. Donna has always been there for me. I have many, many memories including her taking me to Expo 67. I will miss her. Rest In Peace.
