Condolences

Condolence From: Gail Benjafield
Condolence: I recall David with the greatest of fondness and respect. He was the Director at Rodman Hall when a small committee formed under his leadership to put on a St. Catharines bicentennial art exhibition, showing 200 years of art 1796-1996. It was purely local artists works, from the celebrated to the unknown, and David supported all that we collected. We were so proud of that unique local contribution, totally supported by David.

Later, on his return to Niagara, we met at Riverbrink and knew he was living in St. Davids. A welcome return.

To his family, our condolelences sent in memory of a very fine artist, and man.

Condolence From: Dave Hunter
Condolence: David has been a member of our men’s book club here in NOTL. I can tell you that I am not alone in feeling like an important member of our club has been snatched away from us. We have not met since late last year so I was not aware that David’s health had worsened.

David brought to the club a depth of analysis and thoughtfulness that made him particularly appreciated. When listening to his easy voice discussing our book of a month it was obvious that he had read about the book and it’s author, providing us a larger perspective for the discussion.

I suspect what we experienced was what family and friends also enjoyed, sharpening your loss.

David will be much missed as our group reconvenes whenever that might be.
