Obituary for Arthur Thomas Angell

Angell, Arthur Thomas 1923 - 2021
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Arthur Thomas Angell, in his 98th year, on November 22, 2021 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario. Pre-deceased by his beloved wife Phyllis Margaret Angell (nee Stoneley), sister Julie Collard, and parents, Albert and Ellen Angell. Arthur will be missed by his brother-in-law Roy Stoneley, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews in the Collard, Hawksbee and Stoneley families. He was much loved by everyone. Arthur was born in London, England and later served in the RAF during WW II as a flight engineer on the Halifax bombers. He married Phyllis in 1948 and emigrated to Canada in 1963, residing in St. Catharines and Niagara on the Lake. He and Phyllis enjoyed life, travelling extensively and being involved in their community. Their extended family enjoyed many holidays at their cottage on Kawagama Lake. Arthur was an avid photographer and especially enjoyed photographing nature. In the 1970’s he also volunteered with Garden City Productions in St. Catharines. The family wishes to send a special thank you to all of the staff who helped care for Arthur during his years at LaSalle Park Retirement Community. Also, thank you to the nurses on 5 North at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital for their compassion towards Arthur and his family. If you would like to make a donation in memory of Arthur please consider donating to the Hospital for Sick Kids. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home. As per Arthurs wishes, cremation has taken place. Arthur’s family will have a private graveside inurnment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
