Condolence From: Brian White
Condolence: I am sad to hear of the death of my godfather, Tony Tawil. He stood with my father, Ian (an Engineering Masters student at Queens with Tony), and my Mother, Ann, at my baptism in Kingston in 1963. Ann and Ian returned to Australia with me in 1964 via Aleppo, where Tony's mother tried to teach me French. Tony kept in touch, hosted us whenever we travelled to Canada, and visited Ann and Ian for their 50th wedding anniversary in Sydney in 2012. My condolences to the rest of the Tawil family and thanks for letting Tony be part of my life. Brian White

Condolence: I am very sad to hear about Tony’s passing. My sincere condolences to Rosemarie and his family. I knew Tony through my husband Amin. My favorite memory of Tony is the time we played backgammon. I had just learned how to play and I won by playing the game in an unusual way. Given my background this was not an acceptable outcome for Tony. From that day every time I saw Tony he would challenge me to a game of backgammon. Needless to say Tony eventually won. Miss you, Tony. Rest in peace.

Condolence: My deepest condolences to Rosemarie and Tony’s family. Tony was instrumental for me getting hired by Acres and moving to Niagara Falls (from Edmonton) in 2001. I will always remember Tony as a very generous person that he was. Generous in sharing his knowledge and experience as a colleague but more importantly generous in sharing his wisdom and joys of life as a friend. He was passionate about Geotechnical Engineering and it was contagious. Tony was great company and I miss him terribly.

Condolence: Please accept my deepest condolences on Tony’s passing. He was my first boss at the very beginning of my career In 1981 with Acres. A truly inspiring man, uncompromising in his pursuit of quality, kindly and supportive and a real friend. As I near the end of my own career I can honestly say he left an indelible mark and set the foundation for my professional life. I think of him often and will miss him. To all of his family, my regards and best wishes.
