ANNE MARIE REGEHR (BRENNAN)

Born April 23, 1937 in the Cottage Hospital, Notl, Anne Marie left our world March 8, 2021
peacefully with grace and surrounded by family.

Survived by her loving husband Daniel Regehr;
children Heather (Mark Williams), Diane Haliski (Mark Holmes) and Teresa;
grandchildren Cody, Bailey (Aaron), Devin, Noel and Cassidy, great grandchildren
Lana, Eamonn & Aine; & siblings Kathleen Sharpe and Terry Brennan.

Predeceased by her son Desmond, parents Nixon and Elsie Brennan (Dawson),
and brothers Michael, Harry and Dennis Brennan.

Anne Marie loved to travel.
When she wasn't on the road, she was thinking about it. Reading and planning. As a kid, she yearned to have an adventure in Ireland; as an adult she enjoyed many, thanks to her wonderful husband, Dan, who always kept in mind what would make her happy. She was lucky to have been married to her childhood sweetheart for 63 years!

Anne Marie lived for music.
During her childhood in St. Davids, her parents encouraged her to play the piano. Later, her children were raised in a home filled with live music. She was musical director at ST DAVIDS PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH and an active member of the NIAGARA OLD TYME FIDDLER'S ASSOCIATION for decades. She learned how to play the fiddle at 40, and the Irish Harp after the age of 60!
Her music brought happiness to many. She loved to entertain at Seniors Residences as "the Wandering Minstrel", interspersing fiddle and keyboard tunes with amusing anecdotes and tales of her travels.
She played with many groups over the years, even touring Europe. A highlight was opening for Willie Nelson!
Her favourite day of the year was St. Patrick's Day, which included her favourite gig playing at the Irish Design store for over 30 years!

Anne Marie was also an Amateur Historian.
A true history buff, she loved to traipse through old cemeteries. She'd drive far just to visit an elderly soul on the off chance they may have a story to share about some distant relative. That was exciting for her! These stories were used in the compilation of her FAMILY HISTORY BOOK which, when published, unexpectedly sold out at the Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum. A tribute to it's significance in local history. As a member of ST ANDREW'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH she contributed a church history piece. She also wrote extensively about her 24 trips to Great Britain, most times Ireland alone with her fiddle, where she truly felt "at home".

Anne Marie remained healthy and active, with a lively spirit & always a smile, playing music and Scrabble right up to the end, when a stroke took her suddenly.
A special thanks to Stefanie, Danielle & Wendy at GNGH for their compassionate care.

GOD BLESS HER. She will be missed!
