Life Story for Bruce R. F. Bell

Bruce R. F. Bell
BELL, Bruce - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Ramon Frank Bell at Millennium Trail Manor on April 14, 2018 after a brave fight to recover from a massive stroke on April 15, 2014.Bruce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 8, 1930. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna, his children, Tracy Elizabeth (Mark Pellegrino) of California and David Bruce, his grandchildren Misha and Tess, of California and Taylor Bell of B.C. and great grandson Anders Bell, of B.C. Bruce is predeceased by his son Robbie (2009), his parents Robert and Agnes Bell, brothers Robert and Angus, sister Mary Butcher and nephew Randy Lanthier.
Bruce started his first career in the early 50s with “The Brighton Tigers” of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). When he returned to Canada, he joined Canada Packers and remained in the meat packing business for 35 years as a Beef Trader, Plant Manager and Government Meat Inspector. After retiring, he joined his wife Donna at their family restaurant in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Bruce was an avid sportsman. He coached hockey and baseball as well as played as a teenager. He loved golf and enjoyed his golf trips with his buddies. Bruce was a good family man and was proud of them all. His best friend, Bedford his dog, was with him and beside him when he left us. We are so grateful to the wonderful staff at Millennium for their care and compassion and to Lois Barlow, the nurse practitioner who provided comfort.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, a donation may be made to the Speech Pathology Dept. GNGH or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Morgan Funeral Home, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake on Saturday, April 21st from 4-8 pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
