Marguerite Jean "Peggy" Muir (McMullen)
MUIR, Marguerite “Peggy” (McMullen)- Passed peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in her 92nd year with family by her side, after returning from a winter spent in Florida. Predeceased by her husband James of 67 years. Mother to James (Sandra), Linda (Fred) Roberts and Sharon Muir (David Dolson). Dear sister of the late Mae (Doyle). Beloved grandmother to Melanie, Charity (Mike), Jeffrey (Cory), Debbie (Matt), late Christopher, Katy (Connor) and Sarah (Tyler), great grandmother to Jackson and Jennifer Ralph, Ethan and Addison Muir-Sauvè, Abbey, Owen and Lucas Muir, Shawn Howse, and great great grandmother to Benjamin and Christopher. Dear sister-in-law to Earl (Sheila) and Eileen.
Born and raised in Niagara Township, Peggy married Jim in 1946 where they farmed and raised their family. After twenty-five years, they decided to leave the farm and relocated to St. Davids where they lived for many years before moving into a retirement home in Stamford. Upon Jim’s death in 2013, Peggy moved to Sudbury to live with her son.
Peggy was an active member of the Virgil Women’s Institute for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, playing cards, doing crosswords with Jim and reading. She will be deeply missed by many who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
In accordance with Peggy’s wishes, cremation and a private family visitation have taken place. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society. Memories, photos and condolences may be shared at www.morganfuneral.com.
