Musical Memories

I too was saddened to learn of Elvino's death but at the same time a flood of fond NTCI memories came rolling back. Elvino's musicianship, enthusiasm, friendship and leadership were highlights even then. They were halycon days for us - "Musical pioneers"in Secondary education in Ontario. I can still hear his beautifull trumpet in so many settings - rehearsals, commencements, NTCI football at Oakwood Stadium, out of town tours, Santa Claus parades, and of course Maytime Melodies.Elvino and I were able to share some music making at the NTCI 100th - some 60 years later. Great! I am unable to be with friends and family on Sept. 30th but I'll be there in spirit. Thanks for that wonderfull part of our journey Elvino. Farewell my friend. Stan Shortt
