Condolence From: Don Donaldson
Condolence: I was sorry to learn of the passing of an old friend and colleague from my days working at Motorola in Toronto. Now 7 years after his passing, I have re-entered the hobby and looked Eric up, just to find he had passed.. Last time that I had the pleasure of seeing Eric was at the Toronto boat show in 2015 when we had a great chat about ICOM VHF marine radios. My condolences to the Meth family. RIP my friend.

Condolence: I was very sorry to learn of Eric's passing. I worked with him professionally through his radio shop in Cornwall. His desire to keep older two-way radios alive was impressive. He also embraced the newer digital technology and was always a source of knowledge in the two-way radio arena. His love of amateur radio was our common thread and made interactions so much more meaningful and enjoyable. Eric, you will be missed.

Condolence From: Paul Greene VO1PX
Condolence: I was surprised and saddened to hear this morning of Eric's passing. Eric helped our local ham radio club immeasurably with the D-Star system, of which he was the Grand Guru. When I started a new job at Bell 4 years ago, I discovered he had worked a project here in St. John's some 40 years ago; I called him and got his advice on that issue in 2015... he has left a lasting mark on Amateur, and professional radio in Canada. RIP, VE3EI.

Condolence: Dear Connie and family. We were very saddened to hear about the passing of Eric. I just talked to Eric a few weeks ago at HAM-EX and he was his jovial self! Back in the 60's when he was travelling between Montreal and Toronto he would always drop into Peller's Restaurant in North York where members of the Toronto FM Communications Society would gather on a nightly basis. Eric was very kind and generous. During Expo '67 when Eric was working in Toronto, he let me stay for a week at his place in Montreal.

Condolence From: Bill Leal VE3ES
Condolence: Got to know Eric many years ago, perhaps the early 80s. I believe he was still with Motorola back then but he was quite active in ham radio repeater circles. Even here in Windsor, many of us knew Eric for his efforts at promoting the hobby and helping to expand the world of FM repeaters and later digital communications. Helpful to the n'th degree. Will also miss Eric at the Drury Inn in Dayton each May. Had neither seen nor heard from him in a long time when suddenly one evening a few years ago there he was wandering the hotel during the evening gathering of ICOM enthusiasts at the big event. Just like old home week. Eric is already missed!! Thanks for your support OM. VE3ES
