Afternoon Tea at the Bends
Thursday afternoons at the Bends' Dorchester home - welcome to conversations on many topics while sipping, beer, wine and the compulsory tea and biscuits, while watching nervously as Ken and Eilleen confidently negotiating their stairs wearing ill fitting slippers and balancing rattling cups etc on a tray. People always outnumbered by clicking timepeices.
In the summer sitting in the shade at the back with them and not being able to miss the (at least) two ancient bicycles, with handlebar baskets containing rescued golf balls and eilleen's signature white helmet.
A great meeting place full of ideas and thoughts and good hospitality.
Now they are both together again riding heavens' highway on their trusty, rusty Raleighs - sorely missed but well remembered.
