Robert Dennis  Bell
BELL, Robert Dennis- After a brave battle with pancreatic cancer, Dennis passed away peacefully on December 14, 2016 at the age of 75. Thirteen months ago he was preceded by his wife and companion of 24 years Valentina McLeod. He was fortunate also to have enjoyed 25 years with his first love Lynne McLaren also preceded in death. Survived by his daughter Nancy Bell (-Dorfman), Son in law Tim Dorfman, granddaughters Sarah & Laura , Step Son Paul McLeod, daughter in-law Sharon (Furgal) and their children, Dylan, Kyle, Travis and Jake. Survived also by his sister Nuala Freund.
“Denny” as known by all, will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a passionate man who enjoyed travelling, golfing, woodworking, and culinary artistry served with the right paring of wine with his friends. He enjoyed world war history and the evolution of aviation. He was a Ford man with an eye and knowledge for many classic cars. He played piano, bass and clarinet and loved to dance and listen to music. Denny grew up in the town of Drumbo. He studied engineering at Ryerson University and retired from a successful career in corporate banking. He had an engaging personality, wonderful smile and jovial laugh. When someone you love becomes a memory, their memory becomes a treasure.
On behalf of Dennis, the family would like to thank all of his friends for their love and support, as well as the staff of the Stabler Center of Hospice Niagara for their professional medical care, compassion, and comfort during his last months. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice Niagara. A Celebration of Life will be held at Addison Hall, 41 Byron Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake, on Friday May 12, 2017 from 2 pm-6 pm.
